Mimosa takes listeners on a journey through warm rhythmic sound-scapes, with melodies and vocal samples smoothly crafted to help navigate the sonic terrain. Using basslines inspired by hip-hop classics like Too Short and Dr Dre, combined with deep psychedelic textures reminiscent of the downtempo and midtempo output by Tipper and Bluetech, Mimosa blends the range of styles to create his own fresh take on the west coast sound.
Mimosa's debut EP release, Hostilis, presents tracks with heavy-hitting low frequencies, sexy grooves, and uplifting dub infusions, floating between instrumental Hip Hop and Dubstep. The Hostilis EP also features prolific MC Souleye from Colorado, known for his extensive touring with jam bands like BLVD and STS9. The track 'Framboise' features beautiful vocal textures provided by Canadian artist Sasha [Butterfly] Rose.

He has played along side local heavy hitters, out of town headliners, joined the Integrated Grime Unit, had two Western Canadian tours, played the festival circuit of BC and Alberta, had songs of his dropped @ Shambhala and he shows no signs of slowing! Bookings in Oregon and Colorado in the new year are already preparing to spread the sound. The shows are always evolving and he always delivers high energy and passionate performances.

VJ Pr02J started his not so secret love affair with pixels at a young age experimenting with various music plugins. He spent many hours drooling over the intricacies that one program had to offer. As it seemed there was a finale to the excitement it never really lost its edge. He came to a state of awakening when he saw this preset manipulated into some kind of futuristic anomaly being blended with some of the richest and most controversial video content the world has produced. The manipulator of such a project VJ in.dust:realize then lead the journey into an eye opening, time consuming, ride of a lifetime bringing him on board to perform at various festivals throughout B.C. including The Village stage at Shambhala Music Festival 2008 and 2009. Significant projects of recent being his inclusion in the newly formed Sigma-1 Visual deployment responsible for Uprising Music Festival and Planet Womp. There is no denying that Pr02J is fast becoming a visual implosion bringing a mastered supply of High Definition content and gear to match. seeing is believing.

Kristin Grant: Mixed Media Artist: Urbanheart
Kristin's artwork is inspired by the many layers of music, nature and love: rhythm, pattern, flowing basslines and various forms of energy. Her works showcase a collection of materials, found objects and techniques including pen drawing, acrylic painting and collage; they explore her interest of bringing together many pieces to form a fantastic and unique whole. Her training includes 5 years of part-time classes at Vancouver Island School of Art and countless hours of practice in her studio.
Kristin's new project is called "Urbanheart Live," which focuses on creating a community of local artists who perform their art at live venues, including Sunset Room every weekend. Prints of the artists' work, as well as bios will be up on http://www.urbanheart.ca very soon!
